John’s mom, Nancy, has said for years:

“We just knew John would be in the Entertainment Business. When he was almost 5 years old, he’d be going around the house interviewing anyone who would let him – with a pencil as his microphone – and then he’d later play DJ and introduce all the latest hits that were playing on his record player.” Well, John is still playing the hits, as a performer for his DJ company, and on the radio for WWYZ in Hartford, CT.

Between those early years and now, John has sang in choirs, fronted his own singing group, had lead roles in various school and community productions, was a high school “All American” athlete, received the coveted Superintendent’s Award for outstanding high school accomplishments, graduated from SCSU, landed his “dream job” as a radio personality receiving the award for one of the “Nation’s Top Radio Personalities and Music Directors” by BILLBOARD Magazine several times.

He also became involved in various organizations in his hometown of Guilford. John has received the “Citizen of the Year” award in Guilford and the “Paul Harris Award” from Guilford Rotary for his service to the community.  He generously gives of his time whenever asked serving the community whenever he can.

When asked to be Honorary Chairman for the GCF, his reaction was:

“Why me? There are so many deserving people in this great town we call home.

I am deeply humbled and moved to be selected your 2010-2011 “Honorary Chairperson” for the Guilford Community Fund

I will do whatever I can to help you do what you do-which is assisting our community and it’s needy. Being involved over the years with Guilford Interfaith Ministries, Meals on wheels, Charlie’s Closet, The Guilford food bank, plus many town organizations like the Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce, I feel I’m in a good position to help The Community Fund.”
