SARAH is a Family of Agencies that provides programs and services for people with intellectual and other disabilities who live in Connecticut. SARAH is dedicated to the proposition that people with disabilities deserve to experience life’s joys; learn, work and accomplish all they can; and participate as valued members of the community. SARAH supports hundreds of people with disabilities with high quality programs and services for early intervention therapies, vocational training and job placements, residential supports and recreational activities.

THE COVE CENTER FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN

A safe place for families who have suffered a personal loss through death to come together with other grieving families to share their stories and their feelings. Since children grieve best in a knowledgeable, caring environment, parents also learn about grieving kids and how to help them cope.

SHORELINE OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTER

Environmental education through exciting, interactive, hands-on programs to forge a connection with the natural world. Since 1982, programs for children have been developed to inspire curiosity, imagination and excitement about the natural environment. Our programs are aimed at developing knowledge of, a responsibility for, and an appreciation of the Earth.

VNA COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE,INC.

A wide range of health and social services delivered at home to recovering, physically challenged or chronically ill persons. Services include medical, private duty and psychiatric nursing; home health aides, physical, occupational and speech therapy; medical social work, clinics, health screenings and health education programs.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES OF GREATER NEW HAVEN

Services include a 24 hour hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy in the criminal and civil court, information and referral, children’s services, individual counseling and support groups for victims of domestic violence. They also educate the general public, professionals and students about domestic violence.

GUILFORD ABC PROGRAM

Established at Guilford High School in 1974, one of more than 176 ABC programs nationwide. Five to six young women of color from inner cities pursue a challenging course of study at Guilford High School in preparation for college. Residing on Church Street, they are involved in extracurricular and volunteer activities in town and at the High School.

ORCHARD HOUSE ADULT DAY CENTER

A nationally recognized facility which helps frail, elderly, and mentally and physically challenged adults maintain active lives in a comfortable home-like environment that is both therapeutic and social. A staff of trained health care and social service professionals and volunteers work to meet the emotional, social and physical needs of participants.

CLIFFORD W. BEERS GUIDANCE CLINIC, INC.

Outpatient mental health services to children and adolescents of up to 18 years of age and their families, including comprehensive psychiatric assessment, pediatric consultation, crisis intervention services and individual, group and family therapies. MEALS ON WHEELS

Delivers a hot, nutritious mid-day meal to any Guilford resident having significant difficulty preparing well balanced meals. There are no age or financial restrictions.

GUILFORD FOOD BANK

Co-directed by Guilford Interfaith Ministries and the Guilford Welfare Department. The Food Bank is available to any Guilford resident in need who can show proof of residency. Bags of food are pre-packaged according to family size. Special needs will be accommodated. There is no fee.

GUILFORD BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

An alternative to the risks faced by ‘latchkey’ children who are alone in an unsupervised and potentially unsafe setting at home or in the community. Children enjoy a variety of activities designed to stimulate growth in all areas of development in a safe, relaxing and nurturing environment.

AMERICAN RED CROSS SOUTH CENTRAL CT CHAPTER

Established in 1906, the South Central CT Chapter of the American Red Cross has been providing humanitarian relief to residents of Greater New Haven and the Connecticut Shoreline for more than 100 years. Whether it’s providing food, clothing and shelter after a local house fire, training people with life-saving skills, and connecting members of our armed forces with their families, facilitating school safety programs, or offering medical transportation or groceries from our food pantry, your American Red Cross of South Central CT is there.
